Whenever someone refers to the word ‘airport’, the first name that comes in our mind is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, right? Well, that’s now about to change ‘cause Delhi’s wait for its second airport is finally over!
After eight month long wait, Hindon Airport near Delhi finally begins its operation on 11 October, 2019. It is located 32kms from Delhi in Ghaziabad and is ready to take its first flight.
Moreover, the first official flight from the Hindon Airport, which is next to the Indian Air Force’s Hindon airbase, will start its operation with a nine-seater plane that will take off for Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district.
Located around 40 kms away from the IGI Airport, the flight connectivity from Hubballi Airport in Karnataka and the Hindon Airport will start on the 6th of November.
IGI thanks Hindon Airport!
It is said that this new airport will reduce the load on IGI airport which belongs to the Indian Air Force. On the other hand, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has developed a special enclave inside the premises. The IAF has given permission for the use of this airport for civil purposes under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme.
Did you know? The first flight scheduled to take off from this airport is owned by a private airline by the name of Heritage Aviation Private Ltd.
Yes, and they’re planning to launch flights to Faizabad, Hubli, Shimla, Gulbarga, Dehradun, Coonoor and many other such destinations from here as well.
So, are you guys excited to catch your next flight from here?
