Six Russian women have presented Pind Daan in Gaya in Bihar to honour and pray for their ancestors.
Every year, thousands come to Gaya and offer ‘pind daan’ to their perished ancestors to pray for their souls.
Most Hindus believe that the souls of the dead are happy during the ‘shradh’ period to seek their blessings.
This ritual was performed at Falgu river located in the Devghat area of Gaya city. Loknath Gaur, a priest helped Russian women to perform the ritual also spoke to the media.
“The women who have come here reside in different regions of Russia. Also, after the pooja or Pind Daan in Gaya, they told me that they are feeling happy and peaceful from inside,” the priest said.
One of the Russian women even said, “I am happy that I have taken part in the ritual which is for ancestors. I am glad that I am staying here. I am also feeling very peaceful inside.”
