Surrounded by the beautiful Aravali hills, Sariska Tiger Reserve spans about 800 square kilometer covering cliffs, grasslands and others. It is not only home to tigers but home to many other animals including chital, sambhar, rhesus macaque, jungle cats, wild boar etc. It also houses some of the most beautiful birds like crested serpent eagles, harbor quails, sand grouse etc.
This is one of the most famous tiger reserves in Rajasthan.

1. Safaris
What is the purpose of visiting a national park and not experiencing safari ride?
Jeep Safari
If you would like to penetrate deep into the jungles, then go for jeep safaris. Monuments like Kankwadi fort can only be reach by jeep.
Canter Safari
If you visit in a group, then go for Canter safari. Canter takes up to 20 people and you can spot many animals and birds during safari.
TIP: Book online as the rates are very high in person, especially during tourism season.
Monsoon Safari
The park remains officially closed during monsoon season. However, you can reach up to Pandupol Hanuman Temple if you wish to take the monsoon buffer safari.
Canters will take you up there. Also, during monsoon season you can spot dancing peacocks along with many other birds.
Safari Timings
Morning Safari – 6:30 am to 10:30 am
Evening Safari – 2 pm to 6 pm
Morning Safari – 6 am to 10 am
Evening Safari – 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Sariska Tiger Reserve, though it is a tiger reserve has over 220 species of birds. Moreover, the water sources inside are the best spots for spotting birds.
Also, if you visit during winter time, you will see a lot of migratory birds from central Asia and Europe.
Kankwari Lake is a good spot too.
Another very interesting place to see is the Shyamsa Caves.
This has a lot of ancient animal paintings – rhino, elephant etc.
Apart from this and it might sound strange but you can see a very rare Indian herb – Guggul herb (an important Ayurveda medicine).

Located inside the Sariska National Park stands the Neelkanth temple of 6th century.
This temple has many attractions but the most attractive are its erotic statues. Just like Khajuraho, the temple displays erotic and sexy artwork within the temple premises.
5. Pandupol Hanuman Temple
Situated within the premises is the Pandupol Hanuman temple with a picturesque waterfall.
It has a unique mythological significance due to its link with Mahabharata. You can spot a lot of animals and birds here as well.
Ghosts? Spirits? Demons? You might find one here.
Just kidding!
Located on the edge of the Sariska National Park lies the Bhangarh fort.
If you have or haven’t heard of this place it doesn’t matter. I will tell you – this place is HAUNTED!
Many youngsters and adventure lovers come here to seek a thrilling experience. Little did they know, this can be dangerous!
You can explore this “haunted” palace, haveli, ruined temple etc.
NOTE: There are many paranormal activities that took place around the fort. So be careful and be wise, do not visit after sunset!
