The Statue of Unity is a monument that has been constructed in the honor of freedom fighter and India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Also, the shawl on Sardar Patel’s shoulders accentuates its bearing.
In addition, the statue stands on Sadhu Island on River Narmada in the beautiful state of Gujarat.
To be exact, it is a 182 meter tall statue making it the Tallest Statue in the World. Surprisingly, it is double the height of Statue of Liberty standing in the United States.
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Statue of Unity Wednesday 31, 2018 morning.
He said, “They considered our diversity our biggest weakness but Sardar Patel converted this into our biggest strength. India is moving ahead on the path shown by him.”
Also, he added, “This Statue of Unity is an answer to those who had questioned the existence of India. Moreover, the height is what will remind our youth that our future will be as big as this statue.”
We cannot deny the fact that it is built in just 42 months. Moreover, this project took Rs 2,389 crore and 129 tonnes of iron at the base of the statue.
Furthermore, there are other things that are constructed with the statue. These include walkways, ticket counter, food court, the four-lane approach highway. In addition, the ‘Shrestha Bharat Bhavan’ – a 52 room (three star category) lodge for the visitors who will come to see this monument.
“I am that person who dropped her B.Tech (really!) and chose to travel, specifically travel blogging. I’m Manmeet Kaur, a crazy, fun loving and adventurous person from Delhi. I knew I had an interest in writing since I was in school. I didn’t want to be an engineer, doctor or I would say a teacher. My plans were different. I wanted to travel which I guess no one, specially girl had chosen to do in my family for a living. And like other human beings on this planet I have big dreams too. But my ultimate dream is to travel the world and share my experiences through writing and blogging.” 🙂
