Abu’l-Fath Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar, very famously known as Akbar or Akbar the Great was the third emperor in Mughal Empire. He was the emperor who actually enlarged the Mughal Empire which included the entire Indian subcontinent.
Akbar Biography
He was really fond of literature and art. Eventually, he built a library of over 24,000 volumes written in Sanskrit, Urdu, Latin, Arabic, Persian and Kashmiri languages. These volumes were staffed by many historians, scholars, translators, artists etc.
Akbar the Great ruled India between the years 1542-1605 and had his courts at Delhi, Agra, and Fatehpur Sikri. Also, these became the centres of his art and culture.
All his courtiers followed the religion called Din-i-ilahi and also believed that Akbar was a prophet. One of Akbar’s famous and most loved courtier was Birbal.
Death of Akbar the Great:
Akbar the Great died in the year 1605 and then he was succeeded by his son, Prince Salim who was later known as Jahangir.
